Now that we are back to school and have had a few days to adjust we ask that for the safety of our children that parents say their goodbyes at the entry way of the school.  If you find it necessary to go into the building past the office please stop in and check with our secretary or principal.

Reminder EARLY RELEASE every Wednesday at 2:10 p.m.

from Silver Hills Elementary

Silver Hills Elementary in conjunction with 2nd Harvest Food and other local organizations are going to pilot a “Back Pack” progam for needy students starting in September. The basic idea is for the organizations to donate food and we will be the distribution center of the food (for our students and their siblings only).  An Opt-In (permission) forms for all students will be sent home in the next few days. Those who return their permission form will be able to participate. We will be sending home easy to prepare foods for students for meals over the weekend. Students will simply come to the office and get their food items on Friday before they go home.  If all goes well we could have our first shipment go out to students September 4th or 11th.

We will be doing our Open House and our 1st PTO meeting in conjunction with one another. Tuesday, September 15th we will start open house @ 5:30pm. We will have our PTO meeting from 6:00-6:30 and will wrap up open house @ 7 p.m. Please come and see your child's classroom and then join our PTO group.  Many volunteers are needed for a successful year.  PTO sponsors dinner and a book nights throughout the year and holds fundraisers to fund materials for our students.
